Londonderry woman pleads guilty to £77,000 benefit fraud

A woman has pleaded guilty to committing a series of benefit frauds totalling £77,000 at Londonderry Crown Court.

Surina Vig, 40, from Waterfoot Park in the city, admitted committing the offences between March 2007 and July 2010.

She pleaded guilty to six charges of fraudulently obtaining income support and housing benefits by failing to disclose that her partner was her landlord and father of her child.

She was released on bail and will be sentenced in March.
