Police appeal after Londonderry assault and fire

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being assaulted in Londonderry.

It happened on Creggan Road at about 01:00 GMT on Saturday. At 05:00 a house was set on fire in the same area. A man inside was also taken to hospital.

The police believe the fire was started deliberately by two other men who were in the area at the time and have appealed for information.

Neither man is believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

A motive for the attacks has not yet been established.
