35 pupils in some Derry primary school classes

Three primary schools in Londonderry have classes with 35 children or more, the education minister has revealed.

They are Ebrington, Holy Child and Nazareth House primary schools.

In the Western Education and Library Board area, three others - Jones Memorial and St Mary's in Enniskillen, and Strabane Primary, also have classes with at least 35 pupils.

John O'Dowd said the quality of teaching and learning has a greater influence on education than class size.
