Three men in attempted armed robbery of Londonderry shop

There has been an attempted armed robbery of a shop in Londonderry.

The incident took place in the Bracken Park area shortly after 21:00 (BST) on Sunday night.

Three men armed with an iron bar and a handgun entered the shop and demanded money, but fled empty handed in the direction of Fergleen Park.

Two female shop assistants were not injured but were left badly shaken by the incident.

The men were all wearing hoods covering their faces.

One was wearing a black and red coloured Liverpool FC jacket with Adidas and Carlsberg logos on the back.

The second male was wearing a light grey top with blue collar markings and light grey tracksuit bottoms.

The third male was wearing a grey and green coloured jacket top.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
