Man charged with petrol bomb attack on police landrover

An 18-year-old man who was charged with throwing a petrol bomb at a police landrover in Londonderry has been released on bail.

Conor McToal, from Lettershandoney Avenue near Drumahoe appeared at the city's magistrates court charged with throwing the petrol bomb in August.

He is also charged with possessing a petrol bomb and riotous behaviour on the same date.

The case was adjourned until next month so police could examine video footage.

As part of his bail conditions, the defendant is to be electronically tagged.

District Judge Barney McElholm also ordered the defendant not to approach within 200m of any bonfire site or any public order incident.

He warned the defendant that if breached any of his bail conditions he would be remanded in custody.
