Murder probe launched after hit and run victim dies

Police have launched a murder inquiry after the victim of a hit and run in County Tyrone died in hospital.

Declan Quinn, 37, from Coalisland was knocked down on the Gortgonis Road in the town at 1030 BST on Saturday.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa, believed to be involved in the collision, was later found in the Drumcairne Forest on the Ballygittle Road, Stewartstown.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Dungannon on Monday in connection with the crash.

He is being held on suspicion of assisting offenders and withholding information in connection with an ongoing investigation.
