Newtownards stabbing: Man remanded on murder bid charge

A 49-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder.

Hugh Mills, of Abbot's Walk, Bangor, is accused of stabbing a 22-year-old man in Newtownards, County Down.

The alleged incident is said to have happened at a house in Lysander Park on Saturday. The victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A police officer told Newtownards Magistrates Court he believed he could connect the accused to the crime. Mr Mills is due back in court on Tuesday.
