Part of a main road in east Belfast closed after the discovery of a hole beneath a traffic lane will reopen on Tuesday morning, authorities have said.

A section of Castlereagh Street was closed between its junctions at Albertbridge Road and Beersbridge Road after it began to sink on Friday.

It follows the discovery of a similar problem on the Ravenhill Road in July.

A spokesman for Transport NI said repairs to sewers near the road had been completed.

He added that the road would be reopened "early on Tuesday morning" and there should be "no impact on commuting traffic".
