Two arrests in human trafficking investigation

A 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man have been arrested as part of an investigation into potential human trafficking and labour exploitation.

Police said the arrests followed complaints from people in the Portadown area.

The suspects were taken to Lurgan police station for questioning.

Two properties have been searched and several items, including computers, were seized.

The arrests are not linked to an ongoing investigation by the PSNI's organised crime branch into labour exploitation.

Last week, three men were arrested and 20 victims rescued by police in County Armagh.
