Abuse accused doctor Tony Chee suspended
A County Armagh doctor at the centre of allegations of sexual assault has been suspended by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS).
Tony Chee was charged by police last week following complaints that he sexually assaulted patients at a health centre in the village of Richhill.
Dr Chee worked there until 2011, when the practice cut its ties with him.
Recently, he was a locum at Portadown Health Centre, working under conditions imposed by the General Medical Council.
These included not examining women alone and not taking photographs of patients in his surgery.
The BBC understands that Dr Chee voluntarily stopped working after he was charged.
The GMC register, however, now lists him as "suspended" which means he is barred from practising as a doctor anywhere in the UK.
Dr Chee is due to appear before Armagh Magistrates Court next month.
