The man and woman who died in a two-vehicle crash in Newry, County Down, on Saturday were 19-year-old Niall Murphy and 67-year-old Joan Connor.

The crash happened on the Dublin Road on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Murphy was from Newry while Mrs Connor was from Drogheda in County Louth in the Republic of Ireland.

It is understood Mr Murphy died at the scene, while Mrs Connor died of her injuries in hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who was travelling on the road between 17:15 BST and 17:40 BST, to get in contact with them.
