Belleeks: Man, 44, faces attempted murder charge

A 44-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an attack on a woman in County Armagh.

A 33-year-old woman was injured in an assault at a house at Newry Road, Belleeks, at about 06:20 BST on Saturday.

The man also faces charges of assault, making threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon.

Another man, who is 43, has been charged with aiding and abetting him in the assault.

The man, 44, is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court next week.

The second man is due in court later in August.

The woman was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
