Man, 57, charged with attempted murder over Newry stabbing

Carnagh Park Two men suffered stab wounds in an incident at Carnagh Park, Newry, County Down, on Thursday

A 57-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Newry, County Down.

It happened at a house in Carnagh Park in the city. A 27-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his chest shortly before 03:00 BST on Thursday.

The injured man was treated in hospital where his condition was described as serious but stable.

The man facing the attempted murder charge has also been treated for stab wounds to his leg.
