Boy, six, in serious condition after being struck by a car in Newtownabbey

A six-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after a road accident in Newtownabbey.

It is believed that the boy was struck by a car on the Carnmoney Road.

The incident happened earlier between the junction with Glebcoole Park and junction with Portland Avenue.

A 12-year-old girl has also been struck by a car on the Foyle Road in Londonderry. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Foyle Road has now reopened.
