Ardoyne, north Belfast: Alert declared hoax

A security alert at Ardoyne Shops in north Belfast has ended and been declared an elaborate hoax.

It started after a suspicious object was discovered on the roof of one of the businesses at about 12:45 BST on Tuesday.

Shops and a number of homes were evacuated and Army bomb disposal experts were sent to the scene.

The Crumlin Road has has now reopened after being closed due to the alert.
