A man has been injured in a hammer attack in County Armagh.

The 54-year-old was attacked at about 04:15 BST on Sunday when he answered the front door of his home in Parkmore, Craigavon.

He was confronted by a masked man who hit him with a claw hammer. The victim sustained facial injuries, including an injury to his eye.

The masked man left the area after the attack and police have appealed to witnesses to contact them.
