Man suffers serious face and head injuries in Belfast attack

A 46-year-old man is being treated in hospital after suffering serious face and head injuries during an assault in Belfast city centre.

He was pushed to the ground by two men who stamped on his head outside a shoe shop on High Street around 21:30 BST on Thursday.

He remains in hospital where his condition is believed to be stable.

Both of the attackers are believed to have had shaved heads. Police have appealed for information.

Detectives believe there would have been a number of people in the High Street area at the time of the assault and are keen to hear from witnesses.
