County Meath assault victim dies in hospital

One of two men injured in an assault at an apartment in County Meath last week has died in hospital.

The 37-year-old man, who died on Sunday afternoon, is believed to be from eastern Europe.

It is thought the men were attacked some time before 02:00 BST on Thursday 10 April at an apartment on Academy Street in Navan.

Police said a post mortem on the deceased would determine whether the assault investigation will be upgraded.
