John McCready murder: man questioned over 1976 killing

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Protestant building contractor 38 years ago.

John McCready, 58, was shot a number of times as he walked home from a club along the Cavehill Road in January 1976.

He died in hospital 10 days later.

A 56-year-old man was arrested in north Belfast on Monday by detectives from the police serious crime branch.
