Falls Road, Belfast, security alert declared a hoax

The security alert on the Falls Road in west Belfast that led to part of the road being closed, and a number of homes being evacuated, has ended.

Army bomb experts examined a suspicious object, but it was later declared a hoax.

The stretch of the Falls Road that was closed between Albert Street and North Howard Street has reopened.

Residents have also been allowed to return to their homes.
