Women tied up by masked intruders at their Portrush home

Two women have been left shaken after being tied up by a gang of masked men during a burglary at a house in Portrush, County Antrim.

The five armed men entered the house in Hopefield Gardens on Thursday at about 22:00 GMT.

The women were tied up by the gang, who then ransacked the property. It is not yet known if anything was taken.

The women were not physically injured, but were later taken to hospital and treated for shock.

Detectives in Coleraine have appealed for information.
