Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a 46-year-old man in Coleraine.

He was found outside a block of flats on Strand Road near the town's old bridge at around 03:50 GMT on Saturday.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for head injuries, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Two people have been arrested and are helping police with their enquiries.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the Strand Road area in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact them.
