Prime Minister David Cameron announces On The Run review

27 February 2014 Last updated at 15:14 GMT

Prime Minister David Cameron has announced that a judge will be appointed to produce a full public account of the government's On The Run scheme.

It follows demands by Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson, who threatened to resign unless there is a judicial inquiry into secret letters given to more than 180 Irish republican paramilitary suspects.

Mr Cameron said the report will be published before the end of May.
