Londonderry shooting: Police appeal over gun attack

A man in his 40s has escaped injury in a gun attack in Londonderry.

A shot was fired at the front door of a house in Lincoln Court, in the city, at about 23:15 GMT on Friday.

It is believed that the gunman may have made off in the direction of the Brigade roundabout.

Police have appealed for information. DUP MLA William Hay said whoever was behind the shooting did not care who was in the house.

He described it as a "very serious incident".

"Anybody that would fire a gun in through the front door of a house, it has to be condemned totally and absolutely," he said.

"People living in Lincoln Court and the wider Waterside would certainly want to condemn it and condemn it very strongly."
