Cannabis: Man in court over £150,000 drugs find

A 54-year-old man has appeared in court charged over the seizure of £150,000 worth of cannabis plants in Ballymena, County Antrim.

Wan Hon-Fai of Cullybackey Road, faces six charges relating to a raid at the Water Margin restaurant on 20 February.

The premises was raided after police noted a strange smell coming from the building.

The defendant is charged with possession, intent to supply, and permitting the production of the drug.

He was freed on bail to appear in court again on 13 March.

A man and a woman, who were arrested after the police operation, have been freed pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
