Peter McFadden denies attempted murder

A man has been returned for trial accused of attempted murder in Belfast.

Peter McFadden, 40, of University Street, pleaded not guilty to a charge of trying to kill Margaret McNally on 7 June, 2013.

He pleaded not guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, a folding knife, with intent to commit an offence.

He also denied a further count of possession of an offensive weapon, a baseball bat, with intent to commit an offence.

Mr McFadden was remanded back into custody to Maghaberry prison.
