A woman has been charged with perverting the course of justice over the murder of a Northern Ireland prison officer.

David Black, a 52-year-old father of two, was shot dead on the M1 in County Armagh as he went to work at Maghaberry Prison in November 2012.

The 29-year-old woman was arrested by detectives in Lurgan, County Armagh, earlier this week.

She is due to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court in March.

Mr Black was the first prison officer in Northern Ireland to be murdered in almost 20 years.
