South Belfast gas leak 'caused by copper theft'

Burglars may have caused a gas leak in south Belfast after a break-in on Sunday.

The thieves stole copper from a house in Camden Street that was under renovation.

A number of properties in the area were evacuated after a suspected gas leak was reported. The area was declared safe a short time later by the fire service.

Police believe the gas leak may have been caused by the theft of the copper.
