Man arrested after pensioner hurt in Coleraine crash

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian suffered head injuries in a one-vehicle road traffic collision in County Londonderry.

The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was treated in hospital for his injuries and is in a stable condition.

The 33-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving after the incident on the Railway Road in Coleraine at around 14:00 GMT on Thursday.

He was released on bail and the police have appealed for information.
