Rostrevor bus accident: Name of victim released

The man who died following a road accident in the village of Rostrevor, County Down, on Wednesday was Robert Morris, who was 64 and from Kilkeel.

It is understood he was a pedestrian who was hit by a bus.

It happened on the Killowen Road at about 17:45 GMT. Police said only one vehicle was involved in the accident.

The latest death brings the number of people who have died on Northern Ireland's roads so far this year to seven.

Earlier this week, environment minister Mark H Durkan called an urgent meeting in response to the road fatality figures.
