More than 60 jobs are being created in Londonderry by Sainsbury's.

The supermarket is hiring 64 people on permanent and temporary contracts as part of a multi-million pound upgrade to its Strand Road store.

It anticipates that 50 of these jobs will be permanent.

It will also recruit more than 150 staff across its Northern Ireland stores during the Christmas and New Year period.

A spokesperson said it was hoped that many of these seasonal jobs would become permanent roles.
