Men tied up in Maghera house robbery

Two men were tied up during a robbery at a house in the Tobermore Road area of Maghera on Wednesday.

A number of men, one thought to be armed with a handgun and a knife, entered a house at 20:45 BST and tied up a 47-year-old man.

A second 51-year-old man arrived at the house a short time later and was also tied up.

The robbers took money from a safe and personal items including laptops and watches.

They escaped in a black Mercedes taken from the house.

The car was discovered in Brough Road, Castledawson earlier on Thursday.

The men who had been tied up suffered minor injuries and were treated for shock at the scene.
