Man dies in Donegal 'hit and run' incident

The body of a man, believed to be the victim of a "hit and run" incident, has been found on a road in County Donegal.

The man, in his late 40s, was discovered shortly after 05:00 BST on Sunday on the Newtown Road about a mile outside Bundoran.

Gardaí said the man appeared to have been hit by a vehicle that did not stay at the scene. It is believed he had been walking home from the town.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out later.
