68-year-old jogger dies in Carrickfergus road accident

A 68-year-old man has died after he was struck by a car while jogging in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

The accident happened on Red Brae Road in the town at about 11:30 BST on Friday.

Police want to hear from witnesses, particularly the female driver of a silver vehicle travelling directly in front of the silver Peugeot 207 involved in the accident.

The road has since been reopened to traffic.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
