Man charged after double stabbing in Lurgan

A 28-year-old man has been charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after two men were stabbed in Lurgan, County Armagh.

He is also charged with criminal damage and having a bladed object in a public place, and is due in court on Monday.

He was detained when police were called to a disturbance in Brookvale Walk at about 13:50 BST on Saturday.

A 21-year-old man was stabbed several times and a 30-year-old man was stabbed once. They were both taken to hospital.

The 28-year-old is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
