A body found in County Tyrone on Sunday is that of missing woman Lisa Mcgowan, according to an online campaign.

The 44-year-old has been missing for almost two weeks, having been last seen at her Drumquin home on 9 July.

Her family and friends have assisted in police searches over the past fortnight. Police said the body had not been formally identified.

A statement on a Facebook page set up to help find the missing woman said Mrs Mcgowan had been found.

The statement was posted on Monday.

It read: "On behalf of family and friends, we would like to inform you that Lisa was found late last night.

"Sadly Lisa is no longer with us. Paddy and Lisa's family want to thank everyone for their prayers and support.

"We have been overwhelmed by all the generosity and kindness given at this very difficult time."

On Saturday, more than 120 volunteers joined members of the PSNI and search and rescue teams in a bid to find Mrs Mcgowan.
