1,000 litres of fuel seized in County Tyrone raids
One thousand litres of suspected laundered diesel have been seized and two men arrested after raids by HM Revenue and Customs in County Tyrone.
Customs and police officers searched three commercial premises in the Dungannon area, where they seized fuel along with a van and a tank.
Two men from Coalisland, aged 40 and 48, were arrested.
They have since been released on bail. A Customs spokesperson said investigations were continuing.
John Whiting, Customs assistant director for criminal investigation, said: "The production of illicit fuels is organised fraud, robbing taxpayers of millions each year in unpaid duty and VAT, as well as the waste by-product damaging the environment."
