Northern Ireland student dies suddenly in Thailand

A 21-year-old man from Northern Ireland has died suddenly in Thailand.

Stephen Timothy Clifford, who was a student at Belfast Metropolitan College, died in Chiang Mai city in the north of the country, on Sunday.

The UK Foreign Office is providing consular assistance to his family.

A college spokeswoman said: "We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends - our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
