First Minister: "No excuse" for attempted murder of PSNI officers

16 July 2013 Last updated at 14:30 BST

First Minister Peter Robinson has said there was "no excuse" for anyone carrying out attempted murder on police officers.

The DUP leader's comments follow a fourth night of violence in Belfast, which, since Friday, has injured 71 police officers.

Mr Robinson was speaking to a special debate at the Northern Ireland Assembly to discuss the commission's decision to restrict an Orange parade in Belfast.
