Police: Belfast rioting was 'an attempt to kill officers'

The assistant chief constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland has said the rioting that took place in Belfast over the weekend was an 'attempt to kill police officers'.

Will Kerr was speaking after three nights of trouble in Belfast in which 44 police officers were injured in disturbances in north and east Belfast.
