Pipe bomb explodes in east Belfast

A pipe bomb has exploded in Dundonald on the outskirts of east Belfast.

Army bomb officers were called to the scene at Millers Forge on Thursday morning following reports of an explosion.

Army bomb experts examined a suspicious object discovered in a garden and described it as a viable pipe bomb type device that had detonated.

Slight damage was caused to a car. No-one was injured during the incident.
