Police praise after peaceful mini-Twelfth

Marching band More than 30 bands took part in the Somme commemoration march

The police have praised community workers and those who helped ensure the mini-Twelfth parade in east Belfast passed off without incident on Monday.

Several thousand Orangemen and more than 30 bands took part in the Somme commemoration march.

A large police presence was in place during the parade.

A temporary security fence was erected on part of the route at the Albertbridge Road, near the interface with the nationalist Short Strand.
