Pensioner, 84, assaulted beside NI Hospice

A pensioner has suffered a broken arm during an assault beside the Northern Ireland Hospice in north Belfast.

It happened while the 84-year-old was out walking with a friend along the Somerton Road at about 14:30 BST on Sunday.

She was pushed in the back by her attacker, who stole her purse and bag.

The woman has been treated in hospital for her arm injury and cuts and bruises. The police have appealed for anyone in the area to contact them.
