Londonderry: Man, 23, charged with dangerous driving

A 23-year-old man has been charged over a suspected hit-and-run incident in Londonderry in which a young girl was seriously injured.

The seven-year-old girl was knocked down by a motorbike at Creggan Heights at about 19:40 BST on Friday.

The man faces charges of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, driving without a licence and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

A 21-year-old man arrested on Saturday has been released on bail.

The 23-year-old man is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates' Court on Monday.
