Londonderry mortar bomb attack averted

Help

Police in Northern Ireland believe they have foiled an attempted bomb attack by dissident republicans, after discovering four live mortar bombs in Londonderry.

Three men have been arrested after the explosive devices were found in a van.

A hundred homes had to be evacuated in the city as army bomb disposal experts dealt with the alert.

Chris Buckler reports.
