A bomb has been made safe in Londonderry.

It was found outside a house in Hollymount Park at about 08:00 GMT on Saturday.

A number of homes were evacuated while Army bomb disposal experts examined it. It was later declared to be a "crude viable explosive device".

Police want anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
