Man charged after Newtownabbey flags search

A 43-year-old man has been charged after a house search in Newtownabbey in connection with the flags protest.

He has been charged with two counts of possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances, possessing ammunition and dishonestly using electricity.

He is to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday.

A 45-year-old woman and 24-year-old man, who were arrested during the search in Kings Way, have been released pending further inquiries.
