Stephen Davidson Stephen Davidson was found dead at a house in Bangor

Two people have been arrested over the murder of a 31-year-old man in Bangor, County Down, at the weekend.

Stephen Davidson, who lived alone, was found dead at his house in the Ballyholme Road area of the town by a relative on Sunday evening.

Police have said he died as a result of a violent struggle but would not give details of his injuries.

A 30-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested over the killing on Monday afternoon.

"We cannot say at this stage if he let attackers into house and are not in a position to say if drugs were involved," a police spokesperson said.

"All this will also form part of the inquiry."

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the house between Saturday night and Sunday morning to contact them.
