Union flag protests: Man released in social media probe

A man arrested in north Belfast over comments made on social media, connected to the flag protests, has been released on bail.

The 28-year-old was arrested on Saturday.

Protests have been taking place since Belfast City Council voted to change its union flag policy on 3 December.

The majority of the street demonstrations have passed without incident, but some have resulted in serious rioting.

More than 100 police officers have been injured.

Tensions over the issue have also been appearing on social media sites.
