Union flag protests: Man charged after Carrickfergus demonstration

A man who was arrested after a union flag protest in County Antrim has been charged with a number of offences.

The charges include rioting, assault on police, criminal damage and having an offensive weapon.

The 22-year-old was detained after a protest in the Eden area of Carrickfergus on Wednesday evening.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court later on Thursday.
